anyone know where you can rent one without a driver.

Also have an idea on how much it would be just to have a starting figure with the price negotiation.

I went through this exsercise back in March - could not get a mini bus without a driver.

We ended up taking one with a driver at 2000 Bt / day + fuel. That was a Toyota VIP with the high roof, TV, plenty room and very plush! It was organised by a Thai family member so i not sure how that price shapes up?

I was not looking forward to it, however the driver was very good, did exactly as we requested, went where we wanted etc. Basically he had no input but just to drive, i was worried he might start trying to tell us where we should go, how we should get there etc (IE: trying to be an unrequired tour guide) but no - he was fine.

One consideration you might need to make is if you did manage to get one without a driver, would you be covered by insurance / liscence etc??
