I am kindly soliciting advice/recommendations on Visa Run companies. Which ones are the good?

My idea of good include: (1) safe driving, (2) reasonably priced and (3) reliable.

Thanks.

If you value you life, then hire a car and go with a couple of friends. Unfortunately in SE Asia, it seems to be a universal job requirement for visa run mini-bus drivers to be:

1) clinically insane.

2) aspiring rally drivers.

3) to have the kind of ego that makes being overtaken a badge of shame.

If you fly, there is still the potential problem of the taxi to the airport, also normally a fairly scary business.

The staff at our school have used a company called Bangkok Legal Services. They advertise inthe Phuket gazette

I think their offices are near Tesco Lotus (the big store north of Central)

I personally have never used the service, but a number of our teachers have, on a number of different occasions.

They went Phuket to Penang and had nothing but absolute praise for it.

Its about 4500 baht fully inclusive. You travel overnight from Phuket and wake up at the consulate in Penang to hand your papers in. You are then fed and taken to your 3 star hotel - clean and adequate rooms.

Spend a night in the hotel, i think dinner was also provided, though not sure. Next day, the bus takes you to the consulate to pick up your papers and drives back to Phuket. It stops for free food along the way.

It's a convenient all inclusive service.

If going to Ranong, pay the extra to use a service that goes to the Andaman club.. Its such a nicer experience in an AC large boat instead of a longtail either roasting under the sun, or getting rained on, the custom immigration services for the casino etc etc etc.

One I know mates have used advertise in the paper and has 6 captains chairs so very roomy.. About 2300 or 2400 for the run.

Whyen I still did visa runs, I used A1 (Mike's bikes in Chalong) a couple of times. And I was as happy with them as possible for these trips.

I can recommend Bangkok Legal services used them number of times for the Ranong run. Pick 6.15am in Patong return about 5.30pm.

If you are going to Penang and have the cash (14'000Bhat) fly. Better than the 12h on the bus.

Maybe the OP can specify if he/she wants to go on a border run( get new stamp ) or going on visa run ( to consulate and get new visa).
