I'm currently on a 1y multiple that I got while in thailand last year from Sunbelt who sent me to Perth Australia. It expires next January 23rd, 2009.

Anyone know if can get a new one somewhere closer than Perth? Also if I do have to go to Perth I assume January 23 will be high season and more expensive and busy, could I get a 60day tourist, or 90day nonB, in order to travel 3 months later around April 20th?

you can make a border run the day before the visa expires and get 90 more days

thx, but already got it. Jan 23 is when the 15mths finishes...

You can get tourist visa in Vientian. with either 1 or 2 entries.

Withe correct documents you can get a B.

Just about all conulates will issue single entries.

Where is the closest consulate I could go to get a 1 year multiple? Last year I used Sunbelt's service providing the documents for the 1 year multiple, but i had to go all the way to Perth. Is there any other company than Sunbelt that anyone has used and received the 1 year multiple in neighboring countries? (I know that Siam Legal sends you to Alabama in the States...)

A one year multiple based on what? Have you got a Thai Wife? There have been reports of getting Multi Entry B Visas in KL. But refused in Singapore and Penang.

You asked before about a Tourist Visa. You can get a single Tourist Visa in most neighbouring countries and a double entry in Vientiene Laos.

I assume you are talking about a multiple entry non immigrant B visa.

With a work permit and the correct stamp in it you can get one in KL.

If you only have a letter then it's Perth or your home country.

Yes, a multiple entry non immigrant B visa. Not married.

Sorry I dont understand what you mean if I had a work permit (presumably a 1 year WP? Or you mean for less than a year?) with the correct stamp, what would I need a one year multiple entry visa for?

Yes I just used the documents from sunbelt, 10,000B, plane trip to Perth 28,000B, visa 5000B, 4 visa runs 8000B, total about 55-60,000B for 15 months in Thailand.

Trying to find a cheaper way to do this that is not risky.

How much is the double entry from Vientiene? How is the flight there? Cost?

Many people have work permits but do not qualify for a 1 extension for various reasons.

For info on stamp look here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Non-1year-Ku...51#entry2071351

Ok thanks for that info. So by my calculations for the vientiane double tourist visa:

visa: 2000

2times 30day extensions at Suan Plu: 2200

1 visa run to cambodia after 90 days: 2200 (Jacks)

taxi to airport and back: about 400b

Plane to Udon: about 3000 return

Bus to border and back: 400b (200 times 2)

Visa to Laos: 1500

Accomodation/food for 1 nite?: about 1500?

TOTAL: 11200.B

Lite beer, how do u time the plane trip? Go in the evening, then visa next day and return on the evening flight? Or do u need 2 days in vientienne? What is the best day to go?

Other question, how many times can u do this? Indefinitely? So the above 6months times 3=18months for about 38,000B? (Yes thats better than the 1year multiple from perth, 15months for about 60,000B)

The 30 day extension from Immigration is 1,900 Baht each time.

I have never done it but you apply in the morning and collect you passport the next day around midday.

By all accounts Monday is not a good day to go. Of course Sat, Sun are closed. The Royal funeral is in the middle of November , so might be a good idea to check if it is open.

Can always cut costs by getting the bus or train.

It should all be there on that marathon thread.

At the moment there are no limits on the number of times you can do this.

I am not sure what you are intending to do but you cannot get a work permit with a Tourist Visa.
