have a non immigrant visa from Consulate in the Netherlands, I arrived in Thailand on oct 23 and permit to stay till january 20th 2009. I am planning to visit during this periode Laos. But waht will happen with my Thai visa. Will it expire automatically when leaving the country and will I gat a 30 days visa when I come back a few days later. What will be wise?? Please help.

YES, however, you can preserve it by purchasing a reentry permit at any immigration office within Thailand

and will I gat a 30 days visa when I come back a few days later.

YES, you will get a 30 day stamp (not technically a visa). If this meets your needs, you don't have to bother with the reentry permit, it depends on your itinerary which option you will want use.

What will be wise?? Please help.

Yes your Visa will expire when you leave.

Yes you will get 30 days when you return.

If you prefer , you can get a Re Entry Permit from Immigration (1,000) This will keep your 20 January date alive.

Depends when you intend to travel.

Check your non immigrant visa if it a single entry or multiple entry.

If multiple you can enter how many times you like during validity.
