I am now in Bangkok with a Job offer and wish to go to Singapore to obtain this visa

On the Thai Embassy website Singapore they advise Visa should be applied for 2 weeks advance....thou I have heard of this being done next day after application.

Here's a checklist for you:

2. Application for Visa

2.1 Non-Immigrant Visa Category “B” (Business Visa) is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom to work or to conduct business.

- Completed visa application form.

- Recent passport-sized photograph (4 x 6 cm) of the applicant taken within the past 6 months.

- Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family).

- Letter of approval from the Ministry of Labour. To obtain this letter, the applicant’s prospective employer in Thailand is required to submit Form WP3 at the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour Tel. 02-2452745, or at the Provincial Employment Office in his or her respective province. More information is available at www.doe.go.th/workpermit/index.html

- Copy of Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Labour and alien income tax or Por Ngor Dor 91 (only in the case where applicant has previously worked in Thailand).

- Corporate documents of hiring company in Thailand such as:

1) business registration and business license

2) list of shareholders

3) company profile

8) value-added tax registration (Por Por 20)

- Document indicating the number of foreign tourists (for tourism business only), or document indicating export transactions issued by banks (for export business only).

N.B.

- An alien who receives a Non-Immigrant visa can work in Thailand once he or she is being granted a work permit. An alien in violation of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979) concerning taking up employment without work permit or the Royal Decree B.E. 2522 (1979) concerning holding employment in certain restricted occupations and professions shall be prosecuted and imprisoned or fined, or shall face both penalties.

- It is recommended that the applicant should apply for visa at the Thai Embassy/ Consulate in the country where he/she has the residence

Plus All the other company Documents stated on Singapore Thailand Website.

Should I show a copy of the Employment Contract ?

I'm Married to a THai National also...will / need Marriage Certificate ?

Non Immigrant "B" Visa is required for my employer before he can apply for WP....correct ?

Asumming I am Granted Both and the Visa is single Entry....do I have to leave the Kingdom every 90days or can I stay 1yrs according to Length of WP?

Sorry if i'm Dumb sounding....but i'm just a Chef:)

No, you can also work on a non-immigrant visa O, based on marriage. It will be easier to get this visa as you only need to show a marriage certificate. Aa vcopy of your wife's ID and a letter from her would also be nice.

Any non-immigrant visa is 90 days, after which you have to leave the country, unless you apply for an extension of stay during the last 30 days of your permission to stay. You can also apply for a multiple entry visa, which means you can can to Thailand an unlimited times during a one year period, each time not longer for 90 days.

A non-o visa based upon marriage is the best route to go. After you start working and can show a minimum of 40,000 baht tax paid income for the previous 3 months you can get a 1 year extension.

The biggest advantage using the married extension is that it is not tied to your work permit or job. If on a B extension as soon as the job ends your extension ends.

As mario2008 said you just need your marriage certificate, copy of wifes ID or passport photo page. Some consulates also ask for a copy of your wifes house book also. I have never been asked for a letter from wife.

Yes work permit on non-o

Yes go out and get the non-o unless you can meet the requirements for a marriage extension now.

Singapore is ok. Apply one day get back the next. But you can also get a single in Vientiane.

You don't have to be a resident of Singapore.

For non-o visa no income needed, For extension yes for you but not your wife if you can show 40K income.

Wrong, you must first apply for WP.

You'll get WP3 from labor office, with this one you'll get a 3-months Non-B.

With this Visa you'll get your WP (blue book)

But I'll also recommend that you just apply for Non-O based on marriage.

Then apply for WP.

Ohh and welcome to Chaweng. :o

Thou on the Singaporean Thai Embassy Website they requests Bank statement showing @ least Bht400,000.00

you said no such request will be asked ?

http://www.thaiembassy.sg/en/non-immigrant...a-o-thai-spouse

Do you know what they mean by "Personal History" ?

I shouild let my future employer worry about it...but can't trust the HR :o to get it right...and I don't want to make more than 1 trip to S'pore !

That was the requirement for issuing a Multi Entry which they no longer issue.

A single entry should not need that. No one has reported that anyway.

That's the Singapore conulates requirement. It is not in the rules that are set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The personal history thing I don't have a clue as to what it means.

Is there a reason that you have to go to Singapore. It would be much easier and less costly to go to Vientiane Laos. I know from personal experience that they do not have this requirement.

so I must apply for Non-Immigrant "O" outside Thailand?

Luv ya Avatar !

Yes you must apply for the non-o at any friendly nearby consulate.

It cannot be done here.

Note the word FRIENDLY.

Suggest Vientiene Laos, or KL. Unless you are going to Singapore for another reason.

Yes

When you apply for extension of stay based on marriage, you'll have to apply 21 days before your entry stamp expires.

I would recommend to try get an 1-year multiple Non-O.

Then you'll have time to fix everything. ( maybe have to a border run )

When have you been told you can start?

I can go by and report on the construction progress.
