Car Body Shop Required. Any Recommendations?

I used to use GoFast in Naklua, but they seem to have shut up shop.

Does anyone know of a body shop in Pattaya that will fix up small scratches and bumps, good work at reasonable prices?

Thanks :o

Absolutely! There is a small shop on Soi Siam CC Road that is really great for that level of work. There is no English language sign, so you'll have to pay attention to find him. Coming from Suk, his shop is located about 4 kms down the road. Go past the outdoor markets, and then look for a little strip of shops on the right side of the road. The shop is just BEFORE the strip of shops.

This guy doesn't speak more than a few words of English, but he really knows what he's doing; and his prices are very reasonable.

Would this, by chance, be the 'small scratches and bumps' of which you speak?

mobi.bmp

No, that one went to Bangkok for about 10 weeks and they did a very good job :D

Long since sold.

This is just minor scratches and bumps - every day use in Pattaya :o

Mobi...............try TP Paint on the east side of the Sukhumvit Road heading north out of Pattaya. It's not too far away from the factory outlet shop "Fly Now" but on the other side of the road.

You'll chuckle at this.........the "TP" stands for the owner's name.......Turdpong !!!!

And Mobi, not to hijack your thread, but along the lines of car repair, does anyone know of shop (in the Pattaya area) who can replace the front seat of a truck?

I have a new truck, well it was new in 1994 and the front seat needs replacing, either stitched up or replaced with a second hand single bench seat.

Thanks a bunch...

I too need a truck seat repair but as my arris is not yet bumping the floor it will have to wait!

I have been told that there is a place that repairs seats next door to the Toyota dealers on the west side of Sukhumvit as you drive north. I have not yet used them but would appreciate any info from someone who as?

Hope that helps?

This German guy does a perfect job not just a good job!!

Everytime i bring my car there and everytime i am amazed.

Great quality body repair jobs for fair prices.

Once you go there you will never use another.

It is on the Chaipornvitee road.

That's not far from where I live, and even closer than Go Fast.

Can't think why I've never seen it. Looks interesting, thanks.

I've been past the place on any number of occasions.

They have a number of cars there with their initials on them. I have trouble not putting an 'a' in the middle of the CRP. :D This is not to reflect on the quality of their work, but an unfortunate juxtaposition. If they were called Pattaya Car Repair I would not have this problem. :o

I would recommend them. Had my 8 year old truck tarted up before I sold it. It came back looking like new.

Recently, had a Katoey post-34728-1227415767.gif ran into the side of my Vallance / bumper at the Dolphin roundabout. TP knocked out the dent, and other wear and tear scuffs done before I bought the (new to me) truck, and made it looks like new for 2,500 Baht

I also used that place to replace a badly worn seat in my old truck (torn my the metal studs on my jeans. New seat cover from Mitsibushi was quoted at 4,500 Baht, and the garage suggested I go and see this guy. He did it in the day for 700 Baht. Looked perfect and helped my sell my car.

The place is a single story open fronted workshop next to Toyota, but near the big flyover north of town.

This guy is seriously efficient - well he would be wouldn't he?

He even has a sense of humour - when I asked him how much over the phone, he told me to bring a million Baht with me and that should cover it. :o

Very happy with the job - absolutely perfect, my little German machine looks like new, and joking aside, the price was extremely reasonable.

Thoroughly recommend him - for anyone, but especially if you have an expensive motor.

over and out,

Thank you for your trust!

With your orders and your confidence, you have taken us to success. A success that has not remained unnoticed. Land Rover Thailand has taken over the complete workshop with equipment and personnel and transferred it to the new Land Rover service base in Pattaya.

Therefore, we can now no longer accept any new orders.

Of course we will finish all work which we have begun already properly and on time, as well as any warranty cases which might occur.

Not the one on the left hand side of Sukhumvit just past Soi Siam County Club (heading south) and the bus terminal. I can't remember the name but it was recommended by the insurer and it took 4 visits and a lot of agitated Thai conversations for them to attempt to get things right. Absolutely hopeless!

Oh dear, I'd better hurry over there. some of the lacquer on paint work they did so efficiently has started to peel off. I already had this problem with some earlier work they did, and he told me they "got the mix wrong".

I hope he will still honour his warranty - it was resprayed some time ago, but I've been waiting for a few more scratches to make it all worth while....

Just went over to what used to be CRP today. Different name, different management - previous owner nowhere to be seen.

Warranties? I think not....

I too now need a VERY GOOD body shop for my beamer.

Even the wonderful, but longer, CRP screwed it up and and the lacquer has peeled off the paint and it now need re-spraying,.

So same as Phil, I am looking for someone who knows what they are doing. Apparently it is special paint and has to mixed properly or the lacqeur will peel again.

The nearest BMW dealer is at Chonburi, so I would much rather do it locally, if there is any place which is good enough.

Thanks for any suggestions :)

So actually the wonderful crp wasn't that wonderful otherwise the paint wouldn't come of peeling twice.By the way I have had a car repaired by them, after reading this original topic, which also turned out not to be so wonderful as predicted. And on another mechanic job I noticed that his labour charge was way higher then the official dealer.

Anyway if I need a paint job I still swear by Pattaya garage, opposite the Homemart on sukhumvith Naklua. You will see they have a big sign from Glassurit paints outside. Not the cheapest in town but I assume the most professional.

Yes you are quite right.

I went to CRP several times to do body and paint work for a few bumps and scratches - not all my fault I would add, and I was quite dismayed when I saw the paint peeling off the door and front wing from an earlier job by CRP.

When I went back to complain, he originally said that he hadn't done that particular job, but I insisted that he had, and he then produced some scientific device to try and prove the paint wasn't his, when the opposite turned out the be the case. So after admitting it, he agreed to respray free of charge and, I thought, he said he would throw in some other minor work on the back of the car FOC.

Well when I came to pick up the car, he charged me for the minor work on the back. I was a bit upset, reminded him of his undertaking, but of course he denied having agreed to do the other work for free, and I haven't been back since.

I was particularly put out, as not only did I think I should get a bit of free work to compensate me for the time and trouble of having to have the the bad workmanship on the door and wing re-done, but I had also spent a considerable amount of money having the wife's Jazz resprayed by him.

So you can imagine my dismay, when the lacquer recently started to peel off the front of the car, which was also one of CRP's jobs, especially as it the place has now closed.

Now, this place on Sukhumnvit, Naklua, opposite Homemart. This isn't the large, smart place with a very large parking lot, the workshops at the back and the office in a block near the front is it? If so, I had one good experience there, and one scandalous experience. It's some time since I went there (before CRP, and for the wife's Jazz), but before I malign them, I want to make sure we are talking about the same place.

These guys do a fantastic job, they trim all our cars at work.

Directly next to Toyota, they have a large yellow awning covering the front of the building.

I guess we are talking about the same place, your discription about the building is correct however the parking can host about 10 cars so I don't consider that a very large parking lot.

Well it must be a couple of years since I was there so my memory may be a bit faulty.

I will check to make sure.

Anyhow, I think one of the guys in Honda recommended them to my wife and the first time we went there we were very pleased with the work. Cheap, and quick, (24hours turnaround) and a good job.

Then a few months later we went back again (yes my wife was always having minor accidents). I believe it was a Tuesday. They said it would be ready on Thursday evening. We went on Thursday, only to be told it would be ready on Friday. We called them on Friday and were told that it would now not be ready until Tuesday as it was a holiday weekend and they were closed on Monday.

As if all this wasn't bad enough, after she had driven the car home I got in it and immediately smelled cigarette smoke. The whole car just reeked of it. It didn't take long to figure out what had happened.

Someone in that workshop, or maybe a whole bunch of them had "borrowed" the car for the long weekend. The smell of smoke was so bad that it took literally months before it disappeared.

I would never go near that place again with a bargepole.

Been there about 10 days ago, my cigarette burned a whole in my vigo driver seat.

He charged me 500 Baht, replaced the seatcover with a new one, in 1 hour, and did a good job.

By the way, not far away, at the other side of suk. back to naklua, there is the shop Boy and Sound, if you want to pimp up your car.

I will check out the place suggested by basjke today, to see if it is the same place that took the wife's Jazz out for a long weekend jaunt. :D

I suspect that it is.

So no other suggestions for professional body work/re-spraying?

There must be some good places in the Pattaya area - it will be such a hassle taking it to Chon buri and then having to hoof it back to Pattaya and then back again to pick it up. :)
