Domestic Dog Travel

Featured Replies

Sorry, if this is a repeat thread - I searched and searched, but could only find threads about people importing their pets.

Does anyone know how I might take my dog (a very small, Poodle-mix) to Bangkok? We are flying back to the US for the holidays. I've heard that Air Asia doesn't allow pets on their flights, even as extra baggage. Has anyone ever flown to Bangkok with a pet via another airline, and if so, how was it?

Thanks!

Thai Airways takes pets as excess luggage.

If you are planning to take your dog to the US with you, you can actually arrange everything from Chiang Mai.

Health certificate and export permit you can do at the livestock department (passoosath) on the Huay Keaw Road.

P.S. I On the pet forum there's loads of info on importing and exporting pets.

P.S. II If you need more info or help, feel free to pm me.

Thai Air is one of the most pet-friendly airlines.

If your dog weighs 3-4 kilos or less (from memory), he/she can sit at your feet in the cabin in a pet carrier -- preferable by far to being "luggage".

Other airlines will allow this, too. Arab airlines may be one ? Do some research and do report back here. Good luck.

Bangkok Air and TG and Nok all take dogs and all are good! I have always been able to keep my dog with me until boarding at any airport in Thailand OTHER than Suwannapoom.

Even better, your pet can sit right at your feet on some airlines.
