My current 60 day tourist visa expires Dec 7, which is a Sunday; the Pattaya immigration office website says they are open on saturday, but i know they are not.

1. If i go to the Bangkok immigration on saturday the 6th, what is the exact date they will stamp for a 30 day extension?

2. Is the Bangkok immigration office really open on Saturday?

3. If I overstay from whatever date they give for the 30 day extention by one, two or maybe 3 days, and I happily pay the fine at the airport, will that be a mark against me for getting a retirement visa?

4. If I get a 30 day extention, am I able to get a 7 day extention after that as well? If so, how much does a 7 day extention cost? And will that extention be a mark against me for getting the retirement visa?

1. They extend your current permit to stay. If your current permit to stay ends on the 7th you will get an additional 30 days more from that date.

You don't have to wait until the last day. Infact its better to go a week or so early.

2. Not open

3. At airport no charge for one day. More than that is 500 baht per day.

4. They might give you an extension for 7 days. Cost is 1900 baht for any extension.

It will not affect you retirement visa when you get it.

thanks for answering most of my questions. i presumed wrongly that the 30 days extention was from the date i applied for it, so that makes it easier; i can do it a week or so early, no problem there. if the date stamp to expire now is december 7, am i correct that the 30 days they will give me for an extention will be January 6th?

And if I have to just opt for an overstay of say 2 or 3 days, will that be a mark against me for a retirement visa, or is it better to pay the 1,900 baht and get the additional 7 day extention?

thanks!!

It will not affect any future Visa but it is never a good idea to overstay. Pay the money for peace of mind.
