Back on topic Associated Press is recognised for its biased reporting from time to time so I would not put too much credance into their statement with respect to Thailand becoming a dysfunctional state, rather it was most probably a glib editorial comment. Clearly if this situation devolves into a year of civil strive and government ineptitude and inaction it will indeed potentialy head in that direction, but as yet should we not give our hosts the benefit of resolving their problems before "hanging titles" around their necks ?

Absolutely agree with you.

It does seem with many of these goons that it’s a case of, what’s on TV tonight? Nothing good, OK than, lets go to the demonstration instead and have some fun.

On Thai TV they showed some of these people at the airports. Hardly believe my eyes. Young kids, old people, many dancing, drinking and playing games as if it were a picnic outing. Quite astonishing.

The problem is that there are too many idiots involved on all sides; their stupid ignorant actions will only drag others and the country down into the loser pit with them.

Dysfunctional compared to where? Let's have a full list ranked descending from 'functional' to 'dysfunctional'. From my personal perspective Thailand functions better than the 'first world' country I was born.

All depends on your point of view. What's dysfunctional for one person may be supremely functional for the next. If one size fit all this would be a very boring world.AP doesn't have the last word on 'values', at least not in my book. And by the way, how about a citation for that proposition?
