Going from Chumphon by car. Just need stamp out and in. Has anyone recent experience. Is it $5 or $10, can we pay in Baht or best to get $ bill befor going. What time are they open in the morning. Remember someone once said about the Andaman club. This trip is for an older person so really want the quickest easiet option as they dont like boats that much either. All replies and information appreciated.

I may be wrong but the option from Ranong immigration is to cross by long tail boat. I've never used that route so I don't know. The Andaman is in an air conditioned boat. The trip takes about 25 minutes on that option.

Thankyou. And can they do everything, give them passport and not have to worry about anything. Can book in advance or anything

I'd guess it is us$10 or Bt.500 on the Burmese side - as that's what it is in Tachilek (northernmost Thai crossing in to Burma). Obviously, $10 is a better deal, but you'll likely need a flawless $10 bill.

However, I don't know about Ranong first hand - so my 2 baht's worth is conjecture.

I haven't been to the club Andaman in a while now, but the last time I went. You filled a new arrival/departure card, although you can do that when you return it saves time while you are waiting for the boat. Afte immigration has stamped your paasport etc.. you go back to the desk. They copy your passport, and I think you sign the copies. Walk to the end of the pier, hand over 1 copy there. Catch the boat, and pay on the far side. It was 650 Baht, I don't know if it still is. You go through immigration before you pay. The immigration keep your passport. They place a tag in the passport, and write the tag number on a copy of the passport.

You now have 2 options after paying. Come straight back or go up to the casino. It has a duty free and restaurant. The Club is staffed by Thais, the Burmese probably don't want the nationals polluted with western thoughts.

No $ bills necessary.

Ok just to add. My wife went over at Loy Krathong, she thought there was going to be a big cash draw. :o Thais pay less then us, she believes she is still paying the same as she did when I last went over with her.

As soon as you have your stamp you can come back. I'll ask the wife what time the 1st Club Andaman boat is when she surfaces.

Ideal want to get there about 10am or 11am. Go and straight back, so back in Thailand befor 1pm latest not interested in shopping etc. If they only have one boat I think maybe have to wait. On the internet it says a boat goes at 3.15pm but want one befor this thankyou

They do have more boats, and how many they run depends on the season. The boats are Hourly when running 1, like I said before about 25 mins crossing with a 5 - 10 minute turn around. So if you go about 10 you can be back by 11. :o

Edit she's just woke up and says the 1st boat is about 8:00 am
