Thai Airways To Ask For Cash Injection

Featured Replies

Just been reported on Channel News Asia ( Singapore) that Thai Airways are asking the government for a massive cash injection to offset their enormous losses over the last week.

Should they not be asking for contributions from the PAD war chest? Seems to have unlimited resources. :o

Thai Airways will be the first of many who will be cash strapped and many firms will go under along with hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Thailand's reputation and credibility in the international community went quite a few days ago but unfortunately rock bottom still seems to be some way off. :D

As always it will be the big business's with their hands out first asking for support from the government, while those that really need it will be left without the proverbial pot to pi$$ in after this fiasco.

Agree wholeheartedly that the PAD should be putting their hands in their (deep??) pockets to help all they have effected.. maybe when the see the result of their search for democracy they will see the folly of their actions.

As for credibility... you can search all you like, but that went when the first boat landed

Thai Airways have been under alot of financial stress lately (seems to be a trend these days). Apparently they have been losing money hand over fist the last couple of quarters and were cutting no paying flights and that was all well before any of this happened.

Have you considered the effects if Thai airways went under how many jobs would be lost?

Maybe Thai Airways should have thought a little harder about consequences before they assisted the PAD to take over the airport, used Thai Airways buses to transport them around, and served thousands of meals to them...

I was waiting until Wednesday night to cancel my C class flight to Sydney just in case, but if they are in difficulty, that's a good reason to do it now...

I feel no sympathy at all for Thai Airways. The fact that they survive at all is a mystery to me. The "freebie" flights they give away to every Tom, Dick and Harry Puu Yai surely makes them the laughing stock of the airline industry. It is run like a cosy little club for the elites, all part of the plutocracy.
