This afternoon my computer crashed when I was called away. I restarted it, or tried, but all I get is a red light on the front, no power up. Anyone help?

It could also be your power supply unit (PSU) which has quit.

Open the PC and unplug the chassies/case fans (NOT THE CPU FAN!) and see if the PC starts up.

If yes the fans are bad, if not get a new PSU.

The mouse lights up ok as does the external plug ins, but that's it.

If you open the case up, there are usually some lights on the motherboard

that will give an indication of a fault when a machine fails to start.

However check that PSU first.
