Does anyone know any web designers in Phuket, preferably ones that speak good English, i.e. farangs ?

Im sick of all these design companies that all look good, but dont have a clue what YOU actually want !!

Patong would be best, dont fancy going all the way to Rawai or Phuket Town.....

Thanks crobiker but I have been warned to stay away from asia marketing, although they have done some great work his rates are like 4-5 times higher than all the other companies. Word has it he has a very expensive lifestyle that his clients help him keep up.

With my limited budget it might be a bit too rich for me.

Hate to admit but you are right about their prices. However, designer team is very good.

While I have no idea about asia marketing, I do know that cheap service more often than not is crap service.. Theres just too many people on the bones of thier arse out here trying to get by and who try to 'turn thier hand to' stuff like this.

Your absolutely right LOS ! Been the story of my life here in Phuket.

It amazes me how many freelance designers there are on the island who are as you say, on the bones of their arse. Yet they run a mile when you ask if they want a full time job !

The response is always "Im not interested in a full time job but I can work freelance if you like ?". In other words, "Im actually not an experienced designer and have only been doing it as a hobby for the last few months, and if I was to work for you then you would realize straight away. Where if I freelance I have a better chance at extracting money from you early on before you find out im not legit !"

I know a story of a farang guy once who charged a company 80,000 baht for a website, he then went to a Thai designer and got him to do it for 20,000 baht. The company who paid all this money out noticed their website on the Thai designers "portfolio" link on his website, when the designer was asked why their site was on there he replied "thats because I designed it, and by the way, you still havent paid me for the other half of the job !"

I know of other stories and past experiences even of my own, although I seen through it early enough and was never scammed.

Lesson is, beware of freelancers. A lot of them are freelancers for a reason, simply because its very easy to prey on the innocent. IT is such a complicated world to the vast majority of us, this is what makes us very vulnerable. Simple questions can easily eliminate the scammers. Such as do you have a portfolio ? Where are your offices ? Also beware of freelancers who work from home.

Anyway, im by no means an expert at finding good reliable and legitimate designers, im still looking myself !

Based in Patong, English owner with Thai designers. Can do the whole package, website, hosting, domain and basic SEO for 12k. Im currently paying 8,000 baht per year just for hosting on one of my websites, so its worth it just for that.
