Hi everyone, this is my first post, I hope to find some help here, as seen that official websites still not cleared my mind.

I'm Italian, 37 yo, officially married in Bangkok on 9th December with the love of my life (of course Thai lady :D ).

I asked at Immigration in BKK to change my Visa from Tourist to Non-O for mariage, but they cannot do as seen as I had an oversty (dam_n!)...

So they told me, just go outside, in any country and issue a Non-O Visa for marriage Thai lady...

Well, I have 2 questions:

1) In Malaysia which embassy consulate you can suggest for have it? KL or Penang?

2) Which document exactly they need?

- My Passport

- Copy of Marriage certificate

- Copy of ID Card and House register of my wife

...then any other?

I can obtain from Italian embassy in Bangkok the certification from my income in Italy (75.000 Eurp arnd per year that dhould be enough for get 1 year visa), but this document I have to show when ask 90 days Non-O or 1 year extension (that I will ask to Immigration when I will turn back to Bangkok)?

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions and...

MERRY XMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! :o

Either one will do a single entry without a problem. Vientiane is also a good choice.

Your list looks good. Include copy of passport photo page and both sides of marriage certificate if it has a stamp on the back.

You won't need to show income for a single entry. A bank book with some money in the bank would be good just in case for KL and Penang.

For the 1 year extension you will need the letter form embassy. It will need to show a monthly income.

KL or Penang will give you a single Non O Visa. Possibly even a Multi, but you do not really need that.

You will need all of the things you mentioned. Never a bad idea to have a letter from your Wife asking them to issue you a Visa. Or better still take the Wife.

If it came to it you can even do it on a Tourist Visa.

Immigration in Thailand will want to see your Proof of Income. Marriage Certificate, Wife's ID Card and House Registration, Map to your house, Photos of you and your Wife in and around the house, an up to date bankbook,

You Wife to be interviewed(to check that you live together). They maybe visit you and speak to the neighbours.

They will give you an Under Consideration 30 Stamp. You go back in 30 days and get the remaining months.
