I went to immigration Dec 11th and got my 1st extension. My last visa entry stamp is good until Jan 5th 2009.

Except for the Dec 11th date, the 2 other dates stamped on the extension page in my passport refer to permission to stay dates.

Can I assume that I use the Jan 5th date stamped on my last entry stamp to start the 90 day clock?

I'm confused here.

You are referring to 90 days extension.

Are you meaning 90 day reporting? :o

Sorry for the confusion. I am referring to the 90 day reporting after getting a 1 year extension.

I got an extension on 4th Dec. at Pattaya it was explained to me in simple terms that even I could understand about reporting getting exit permit and the fine for reporting late when I collected my passport there was 2 notices stapled in it 1 reminding me about re-entry permit and the other explaining about the last date that I have ie 4th March to report and what I need when reporting and also states the fine if I report late is Pattaya the only immigration office doing this

For sure not all offices do it. Mine only gave a verbal about 90 day report date.

Even the the due date of the first report can vary. Mine was 90 days after the date I got the stamp after the 30 day wait period for marriage extensions. Even heard of offices not reseting the report date when a new extension is done.

I have a one year non Immi O visa with an mutiple re-entry stamp in my passport.

I travel a lot outside thailand via air.

When i come back to Thailand is the airport immigration form also good for the 90 days registration.

In other words do i still have to show up every 90 days when i travel out side thailand within those 90 days or is the counter reset when i come back into to country.

Thanks for the info.

If you have a mulitple entry visa you do not need to do the 90 day reporting because you are never in the country for more than 90 day at one time.

If on an extension then leaving and re-entering resets the count.

If you have, like me, a (retirement) non multiple entry you have indeed to report 90 days after the extension has been granted (ie December 11), not the day the extension starts.

Actually you should have a paper in your passport giving you the right date when to report (together with the fines 5000 baht and 200 baht per day). It is signed by the officer who

granted the extension.

You are probably safe without such a notice, but to make sure you can ask them to attach one in your passport.

The fine is 2000 baht.

Not all immigration offices do the notice telling you when to report. If it is not their policy they won't do it even if you ask them to.

'Any Aliens who fails to comply will be punish with a fine not exceeding 5000 baht and with an additional fine not exceeding 200 baht for each day which passes until the law is complied with according to immigration act BE2522 section 76'

Maybe in practice, the 2000 baht is exercised, but the Law says differently.

Hi

I like your self have a (retirement) non multiple entry visa with the piece of paper stapled to my Pass Port informing me of the next time i should report witch is Jan 12 The actual visa 1 yr runs out in october.

Being a bit confused here with the different talk about Extensions and 90 day reporting, are they one of the same or two different things.

I am thinking may be i am missing out on a further extension on top of my stated 90 day reporting date thus extending my next reporting date by whatever amount of days the extension will run to.

A clarification would be most welcome

Merry Xmas to all

I am aware of what the immigraion act says. I made the post so that there would not be dozens of posts from people thinking the rules had changed.

This from the immigation immigration webpage for 90 reporting.

"If a foreigner staying in the kingdom over 90 days without notifying the Immigration Bureau or notifying the Immigration Bureau later than the set period, a fine of 2,000.- Baht will be collected. If a foreigner who did not make the notification of staying over 90 days is arrested, he will be fined 4,000.- Baht. "

The extension reference is for when you have just made either your first or renewed your extension of stay.

Dependent on the immigration office the first 90 day report is due 90 days after the date you do the application for extension. After that there is no more extensions until you apply for a renewal.

The OP got things a little mixed up when he did his post. Extensions and 90 day reports are not the same thing.

I got out a bill that shows I paid 1900 baht and the 1 page in in my passport with the officer's signature and 4 dates which included the Dec 11th date which had no Thai writing on either side of it and no mention of fines. I got no additional separate paper or notice.

He also gave me a verbal reminder but didn't mention the date which I assume would be clear in my passport.

As you can see, I did clarify what I was asking.

1,900 Baht is the extension fee.

Usually they do staple a 90 day report reminder in the passport. As said not all do this.

I would always interpret and abide the law instead of a 2004 statement on the web.
