In years past, the new years fireworks started at xmas and lasted until after new years. This year, it is so quiet that you wouldn't know that the biggest holiday of the year is tomorrow. Why no early fireworkd?? wife says that it's a sign of the economy and I am not complaining about the silence, but wondering if she is right.

Are time$ so bad that no one can afford to burn up thier hard earned $'s, just for a bang?? Maybe an upside to a down economy will be less noise, accidents and insanity.

Unfortunately the lack of fireworks doesn't also seem to apply to our local karaoke, where the crap-singing season is in full swing, in preparation for the New Year !
