Pregnant In Chiang Mai And Need A Doctor

Featured Replies

Hi, my husband and I are currently living in Thailand and we have just found out we are pregnant.

However we have had five miscarriages in the past and I need to find a good gynaecologist in Chiang Mai who can help us through these early difficult weeks, give us regular scans and medicine etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

best wishes

Hi. Go to the Chiang Mai sub-forum and search for threads on this issue (several). In particular look for the thread on suan doc hospital /special medical service (where our son was delivered) - we were very happy with the doctor and the overall service.

A tip with the thaivisa searches is to go to advanced search option and select search thread titles only (otherwise you will get heaps of not-very-relevant leads)

Dear Chiangmaibruce,

Thanks very much for the suggestion. I did look at the thread you suggested, contacted the American doctor Greg Greer and he has fixed me up with a haematologist and I'm also going to see him next week to find a good ob-gyn. He seemed to know exactly what I needed - more than the ob-gyn I saw in Samitivej in Bangkok, and I can get the drugs I need. This is better than I ever thought it could be!

Thanks your help

Dear Gingercat,

I am a qualified Doula and Pregnancy Massage Therapist from Australia, living in Chiang Mai. I have had some valuable experience dealing with the hospital system here and have had very good results in helping couples to have exactly the births they want despite the stigma that seems to go along with childbirth in Thailand. If you would like further information on anything relating to this topic please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

Kind Regards,

Thailanddoula
