Hi Flip

Have seen only gloss and semi-gloss, most common types here in Thailand.

There are some larger good paint shops at Chaofa east near Chalong. Others are Homeworks, Homepro could have for a try.

I was looking for the same thing a couple of days ago. (Actually, I need the exterior or Marine/Spar variety).

I've tried HomePro, HomeWorks and Carrefour so far, and all I've been able to find is either gloss or high-gloss. Lacquer is available almost everywhere in a matte finish and maybe you can use that if you won't be using your furniture outside.

Try True Value, on the ground floor of the new Homeworks building opposite Central festival.

They will have what you are looking for.

I used to build and restore furniture back in the states.

I would usually use high gloss and then go over it with fine steel wool to make the finish less shiny.

Should work for you if you can find fine steel wool.
