I am sure many of us here in Thailand will be watching this grand event, either at home or in public. Just acknowledging the importance of this event. History, here and now.

With this CHANGE I now hope for the day when the color of a mans skin will not be noticed when it is time to vote. All the best, Mr. President.

The swear in is at NOON US east coast time.

The music starts at 10 AM.

Then there is an afternoon parade, followed by the nighttime balls.

12 hour time diff, so that would make the swear in at MIDNIGHT Thailand time.

Go Obama, he may not be the first Irish-American president, but let's hope he's the best !

Thanks for reminding me. Barack O'bama indeed!

Ha! I never saw that before. Pretty good.

Today the USA will have a new president, it is an exciting time for all americans and the world.

YES WE CAN!!

Wife and I have a few friends over with the coffee pot brewing.

So far the inauguration party has all the depth, excitement and poignancy and tone of the Rose Parade. Perhaps I should have waited until midnight to turn on the TV.

Can someone please fix the spelling of "inaguaration" day in the title to this thread. We already get enough jokes about the dismal state of education in America!

Its a typo, dude. But yes, do fix it please.

Surprised nobody has objected to the "leader of the free world" label. Arrogant bunch, aren't we? Ha!

Obama has a really hard job ahead of him and I wish him the best of luck. I think this is a great day for America and the rest of the world.

I just hope that we Brits find someone decent to replace Brown...............

Sorry the chosen one is full of shi*e - I'd have more respect for him if he'd kept things low key, but he created one hel_l of a circus. Yanks have chosen poorly once again. :D

What the hel_l does this have to do with Thailand anyways? :o
