Difficult to see that they have embassy staff in their payroll who can guarantee a visas...

More likely they just fill in the application for you and take copies and drop the application to VFS office etc and "guarantee" your visa providing you meet all the requirements set by the embassy for said visa.

Quite expensive IMHO as you could do it yourself and if any proglems or questions VFS staff will explain and help you out so that all docs are in place before you pay the application and visa fees.

There is no guarantee for a visa, if she doesn't meet the requirements then they wont get a visa no matter who they use. Suggest your friend avoid this outfit like the plague.

I prepared everything for my gf's tourist visa and had it all sorted out for her perfectly, no worries I was sure (with the help of Thaivisa!) anyway she decided it was worth the 30000Bhat payed to an immigration/travel agency place for a guaranteed visa....sure we got it, but then I had to stump up for the flight as she spent the money already.

And she is still sure our success was down to the hard work of that travel agency...nothing to do with all the prep I did........

In short just do your prep and make her take it herself...i'm sure this company got 30000bhat of my gfs money just for filling in the form and popping down to the VFS office on the skytrain.

Thai friend of mine has been told for 25000 baht an agency will guarantee her a tourist visa to Australia. has anybody successfully used such a service?

There are no guarantees...

Tell her not to fall for that line.

Quasimodo,

The previous posters to this topics have given you some very good advice. No one can guarantee the success of a visa application. Applications are assessed against whether the applicant satisfies the criteria relevant to the particular subclass of visa applied for.

Before I handed over any money I would certainly want to ascertain what qualifications the so called visa agent held (if any).

Agree with all - no guarantees can be given.

The application isn't that difficult - just lots of hoops to jump thru.

Work thru the list of requirements - and the visa company would probably ask for all the stuff anyway before 'guaranteeing' anything - and you'll be fine.

I've done 2 x tourist, and I spouse TR/PR, child addition on to the TR/PR and managed. Sure it can be a bit of a hassle (and running around) organising all the paperwork, but on that company's prices I saved at least 100K baht - which is quite a few days holiday in LOS!! :o
