Doggy Wheelchair

Featured Replies

Hi there

I'm trying to help a lovely young dog with one back leg and dragging the other one.

It has had a sort of wheely thing which just isn't good enough. I hope to design and build something of quality and durability and much more stable.

I would like it to be adjustable heightwise in fact everythingwise so it can be bespoked in retrospect.

I can already think of a few materials i need.....

strapping of the type used on backpacks and clips/ adjusters to fit

aluminium tubing preferably with matching angle-adjustable elbows preferably with hand tightenable plastic clamps.

Some sort of plasticated padding suitable for the body to sit in. Something which could be hardened might be good.

Any and all ideas welcome

thanx John

I've send you a pm. Hope it will be of help.

thanx Nienke and hoping for some pointers to supplies from anyone else

You can also use pvc pipes which you can get anywhere.

The disabled center makes wheelchairs with pvc pipes: wheelchair workshop

You may want to have a look and talk there to get ideas.
