I need a non-B visa after being offered a job here. However, the company has no intention to give me a work permit. I don't want to go to Singapore because hotels are too expensive and the morning flight doesn't arrive in time to make it to the Thai embassy on the first day there.

This has probably been mentioned here several times, and I did check the pinned discussions about it, but is there any chance of getting anything more than a 3 month Non-B visa if I have documentation such as company registration, registered capital, job description, and most of the 13documents listed except tax stuff, balance sheet and contract. This is well known company that is offering the job, not my own biz and will have registered capital of over 8million baht.

I have an old work permit for a different job which is dated until Oct 2009, but the work visa was canceled (no longer require you to hand in your work permits).

Is getting the 3month Non-B still easy? In KL and Laos they didn't seem interested in processing them last year, and ended up going to Singapore. I've not been to Penang for seven years. Is it better to use an agent in Penang as everyone seems to talk about them in this forum?

Thanks for comments.

My mate just did his in Laos no problem as long as you have all the paperwork,

but i think you still only get 90 days to get your work permit, after that its cancelled,

if you have the cash get a multi entry non b,then do a boarder

run every 90 days .

Im sure better info will be posted soon,
