DavyKleinfeld Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 This is probably a stupid question but I've only ever done a visa run to Ranong and when I have gone to Cambodia have always done so via PP and Siem Reap airports. I need to do my 90 day run in a couple of weeks and as I'm in Bangkok meeting friends just before my visa is due, I was going to to a run to Poipet. Problem is, I only have half a page left in my passport and I my question basically is - do I have enough room in my passport to do a border run at Poipet? I take at the border they use the simple visa exemption stamps rather than the formal full page visa? This is what they do at Ranong and I am assuming it's the same at Poipet. If anyone can clarify it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
ubonjoe Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 You do not have enough room in your passport. It will be a full page stamp for the visa. Some countries add pages to passports and do it in just a few minutes.

Do you know if it's the norm for them to add a page to the passport and if there are any extra costd for doing this? I was going to use one of the usual visa run companies - will they take care of this for me? Sorry for all the questions but don't want to get there and find out I'm stuffed, scammed or both. Thanks again.
Lite Beer Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Only your Embassy can do this. If is possible at all.
Crossy Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Poipet accept the Cambo. E-visa do they not? Obtain online, doesn't use a page in your PP. http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/e-visa/vindex.aspx Should be able to squeeze both sets of entry and exit stamps in somewhere "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Thanks again. What I was writing about was pages added at your contries embassyor consulate. Sorry for the confusion. You can get an e-visa on line for Cambodia that does not require any pages. DavyKleinfeld Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 Thanks for the advice guys. Reckon I'll just head to the UK embassy on Monday and apply for a new passport - need to do it anyway. Cheers
ubonjoe Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 It takes 10 days to get a new passport. So you need to do it soon.

Unless the OP is SE Asian he will need exactly 1 2/3 pages (a full page sticker plus 4 stamps) to do a visa run to Cambodia. Even if he is SE Asian he will need 2/3 of a page (4 stamps).

jamesjdaly Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Poipet will accept a Cambodian e-visa for entry and exit. Daung (Ban Laem, Thailand) will not accept an e-visa for entry. Go to Poipet. You can get a Cambo e-visa within a few days online. Refer to Crossy's post above for the website.
