Hi, I am drummer looking to jam with other musicians interested in making original music. I am influenced by rock, pop punk, heavy metal, thrash, electronic, grunge, post punk, indie, alternative - generally I am a rock drummer. Some bands I like with notes: Zeppelin, Morrissey, The Smiths, Beck (Sea Change album rules), thrash band Slayer, jam band philosophy like Phish, Cure, early U2, REM, early Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses circa late 80's Appetite for Destruction, 80's hair metal bands like Motley Crue, My Bloody Valentine (love the wall-o-sound of shoeglaze), the unpretentiousness of AC/DC, Nirvana, the noise of Sonic Youth, the Beatles, I like some hiphop like Notorious BIG and Snoop, dead punk rocker G.G. Allin for the most authentic attitude in rock music, the Killers, Oasis, the Verve, Springsteen, early Metallica before Bob Rock made them radio friendly, Black Sabbath, Faith No More, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Sinead O'Connor, the Police, Lenny Kravitz, Van Halen. I guess I am a modern rock drummer that can groove and find the pocket - not much fancy stuff like quadruple triplets on rack toms (although I will try), no fancy time signatures, I tend to hit hard and play loud (but can play soft for a song or parts of it). I love the blues but can't play it for **** and Bangkok has a lot of blues bands already; no cover bands - the Eagles are the only ones who should be playing "Hotel California". I like free form jams where the song writers also have their own stuff to work on so basically we're jamming and working on originals - I am not a pro and have no aspirations of fame or fortune making music - I just like playing the way some people like riding a bike or painting a picture or meditating. I think I prefer the warmer sounds before ProTools and home studios and drum machines. I think of songs as always works in progress organically developing between people on the same page musically. Peace
