You could always try the pet shop in Big C underground car park. They would always order you one from there contacts that they have all over Thailand.

Please beware regarding the pedigree of the dog, as Thais seem to think that registering a dog with the kennel club of Thailand and using the registration certificate as a pedigree paper. Good luck.

mm ok. I have no idea why you mention that, but obviously someone or something upset you.

NO. Did I make that clear enough? No, no and no.

MMkay.

I strongly suggest you contact one of the dog breeders and doggie people in the animal section. There are people in there that are well connected to REPUTABLE breeders and may even have a rescued lab for you. An animal should never ever be purchased from one of the puppy mill vendors markets. Retailers do not verify the supply of animals nor will they be able to tell you if that dog will have distemper, be vaccinated, or be prone to a hip problem. Animals that you see in retail outlets have usually originated from factory breeding centers where there is no regard for health, genetics or ethical behaviour. Be part of the solution and not the problem. Choose from a responsible breeder. Do not rule out a soi dog or other animal rescue center. Aside from the good deed, the local Thai varieties animals are better suited to thailand than larger breeds such as labs (unless you know what you are doing with a lab.)

As for the childish comment about the BBQ, pay it no mind. It comes from a person that just posted his conspiracy theory iabout the film industry, so a nonsensical comment is to be expected from someone like that.

Hi, Welcome to Phuket..

How long do you plan to stay in Phuket? Will you take the dog with you when you leave? I only ask because this is a big problem here in Phuket when people leave and \their dogs have no home so get dumped at temples, left on the street, put down or taken to PAWS/SOI Dogs. What will happen when you don't need the dog anymore?

Perhaps you can search for a dog in order to give a little something back and give a dog a good home too.

Before you get the designer dog please go by Soi Dogs or PAWS and see if you dont fall inlove with a dog there. THere are so many dogs who would be ever so grateful to keep you company..

So please consider to resuce a dog that needs a home without the papers?

Please read this post too..

Huh? I didn't flame anyone and I have no connection to the Soi Dog Foundation, I just wanted to give them a mention as I know they do good work and being new to the island the OP might not be aware of them.

Hi everybody..thanks for all yr suggestions and ideas:) Really appreciated!!

As I said, we just moved in Phuket, start a new life here and hopefully it should be for long..If we move out from Phuket we would be responsible enough (being adults) to take the dog with us!! For sure we won't dump it on the street!!! As per the breed, the fact of looking for a Black Labrador, is because it's a life time dream of both my fiance and I:) It's our willing and for as much as I really appreciate what you all said (apart from the BBQ blogger), we would like to accomplish our dream.

Well you can still check with the foundations as you never know what people dump there! I dont mean kids dumping pets in the streat. I meant ex ex-pats going to move back home or wherever and cant or wont take their dogs. This is an Ongoing problem. I know 2 responsible adults who have just dumped their dog at PAWS to be dumped at a temple. Another person just recently posted because he had to leave and his viscous rotweilers had to be put down and he was looking for a vet. Probably his dream to have 2 guard dogs too.

As for the childish comment about the BBQ, pay it no mind. It comes from a person that just posted his conspiracy theory iabout the film industry, so a nonsensical comment is to be expected from someone like that.

I posted a childish comment in jest, but what on earth are you talking about? I don't post conspiracy theories. I expound them.

Were you employed as a ditch digger back in old blighty? It seems to carry over into your posts as you keep digging yourself a bigger hole.

Without wanting to further hijack this thread, your nonsense is quite insane and I won't waste any further time or effort on you.

People that have been living in Thailand for a long time know that black dogs are considered to be good eating dogs and are highly sought after for their sweet meat, particularly people from Laos..

I am sure that tw25rw was referring to this when making a joke about the barbeque dog.

Just stating a fact what's all
