Need Scsa Test In Thailand

Featured Replies

My wife and I have failed to get pregnant after several IVF attempts at different institutions in Thailand. This is despite her being only 30, and myself in my 30's. We produce prodigious numbers of eggs and embryos, but don't seem to be able to get viable, healthy blastocysts. Traditional sperm tests do not find anything abnormal.

Before looking at donor eggs, I want to rule out sperm DNA fragmentation as a possible source of problems. In the West, this means a sperm chromatin structure assay, or SCSA test. Unfortunately, there are no regional clinics or hospitals I have found that offer this service. I have talked with the R&D department at Chiang Mai University who have offered to add my name to a list of test subjects during their next research project, but they do not know when they will receive funding for another experiment.

This is a simple test in the West, but apparently over here it isn't available. Can anyone suggest a facility either in Thailand or a nearby country such as Singapore or Hong Kong where this test can be performed in a commercial setting?

I don't know, but I'd try asking the "Big 4" in Bangkok: Bumrungrad, Bangkok Hosp, BangkokNursing Home Hops and Samitivej Hosp. All have state of the art diagnostic facilities and large Fertility programs. Go to their websites and send an email asking if they are able to eprfrom the test.

Should it turn out not (which would surprise me) then trye the National University Hosp of Singapore.
