Correction: Fire in Jomtien

As of a few minutes ago many, many sirens, ambulances, fire vehicles headed towards inner Jomtien near the beach. What/where exactly is burning?

I am a ways off and it is dark but I can see a big plume of smoke. It looks BIG.

(Mods: please change the title to Jomtien)

Probably an insurance job on one of the unfinished tower blocks.

It's difficult to burn concrete. In fact it's usually used as a fireproofing material cover to structural steel.

Structural steel not being that easy to burn either :o

But it does twist and warp in the heat and so can fail structurally. :D

Like I said in the OP, inner Jomtien. Soi 4 sounds about right. I didn't even know there were that many emergency vehicles in Pattaya but I must say the fire fighting trucks did not look impressive.

4 big fire engines were on route but i think were too big to get down the soi (or maybe nor needed).

Was there last night, saw all the police and emergency vehicles, saw people running away, many police on the beach road directing trafic, sirens every few minutes but just sat on Soi 6 enjoying my drink. Never saw any fire or anything else at all.

You need to get a fire going around it first....bit hard to do if its an empty construction site :o

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Apparently nobody was hurt at the Soi 4 Jomtien fire:

That was a huge response to this fire. Kudos to the firemen for putting it out and stopping it from getting to be a big fire. Case closed.
