Thai Chi
My computer has recently been infected with a few trojan and worm virus. They only appear when I connect to the internet. That is, if I just turn on my computer without connecting to the net, they do not appear. As soon as a connection to the net is made........bang bang bang !!! My anti-virus picks them up no problems. It removes some and moves others to the virus vault. I am not sure what effect these worms and trojans are having on my computer, but its a real pain to go through this on each connection to the net. These are some of the offenders: Trojan horse backdoor. agent.CZD.....C:\ windows\ service. exe Trojan horse Downloader. small.FIZ.....C:\ documents and settings\ David\ Local settings\ Tempoary internet files\ Content IE5\E45JSD8X\ abb9(1) txt Trojan horse Sheur2.rvn.......C:\documents and settings etc etc etc Trojan horse Crypt. CPW........C:\windows\ services.exe I-Worm/ Nuwar.AM......C:\ documents and settings............IE5 etc etc I have spent a day looking for a fix to no avail.... Any ideas how to get rid of these please.

Thai Chi
Thanks for that link webfact. The trojans / worms do not seem to re - appear when doing a scan with AVG after their inital removal at start up / connection to the net. But I will try anything at this stage Will post results of scan soon.
Thai Chi
That didnt work webfact ....probably because I have to heal / remove the trojans when AVG finds them when a connection is made ??? Then they will not re appear until the computer shuts down and is restarted again and another connection is made...... dam_n frustrating....... webfact
you should run a rootkit scan as well - http://www.sophos.com/products/free-tools/...ti-rootkit.html (free tool) Edited March 2, 2009 by webfact
NHJ
you're probably victim of one the trojan/malware who changed registry keys so every time you connect to the net they download a copy of malware/trojan.
Guest Reimar
Go to: http://www.freedrweb.com and download the latest version of their CureIt. Run it once on your computer. After that brestart the computer and run Windows in Safe Mode, start CureIt again, first in quick mode and after that in full mode for all drives. That should clean your computer and bring it back to normAL. Good luck! Cheers..

With some helper programs it might be easy to determine what actually happens on your PC. But give it a last try before you use the shredder... Download this free program and scan http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/ good luck
