Hey guys, great video.Bard those panniers look mighty wide,no fun in Bkk traffic.

Where did you ride in the north from CM?

My appetite is unsated, now waiting for #2 video.

Keep the greasy side down and keep safe.

Its not just the width also.. When you bung a lot of weight on the back it fecks with the distribution and balance too..

When we did the Iron Butt I was planning to be away a few weeks not the few days and loaded up with stuff. That was the first time I had ridden that bike with any luggage on it and when we met up and the lads were all traveling light, I realized then how unsettled it felt loading up the rear end, my GF as a pillion probably weighs less than I had in luggage (no exfoliating cream tho Trent..Sorry bring your own !!). Hearing how Bard was trying to get a knee down, plus perhaps loading all that great touring space up, well it probably handled far differently than normal.

Actually the 46 litre GIVI top box i was using was extremely stable and didnt bother me one bit hammering into corners nor at speeds over 200km/hr

i can highly recommend the V series top boxes and racks from GIVI, stable and quite attractive

Yeah its not so much the stability but the extra weight on the rear end..

Tho I am guessing a FZ holds up better than a decade old GSF4 :o
