Hi,

I am a Thai citizen planning to visit my friend in Australia in July 2009 for almost 2 months, I have all the standard required document such as bank statements, passport, and a letter of invitation from my friend, etc. I got photos of us together aswel. I am not working in thailand at the moment, because ive just finished my studies in February at university and awaiting my graduation ceremony in November 2009. All my family lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand also. I have also been to the USA twice on work visas a couple years back.

What documents do you think I would need to provide reason to return to Thailand?(perhaps a letter from my university? Will that be sufficient?)

Also, what do you think my chances are of obtaining a 3 months tourist visa to Australia?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much :o

Hi Bozny,

The documentary evidence that you might want to consider was covered in a previous post. See Below:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?s=...t&p=2425465

In deciding whether a visa applicant intends a genuine visit some of the relevant considerations that DIAC will take into account are: The personal circumstances that may encourage the applicant to return to their home country, including: on-going employment; the presence of immediate family in their home country; and property or other significant assets owned in their home country.

The list I have mentioned above is certainly not exhaustive. I would however not solely rely upon the evidence of your graduation as the only means of proving your intention to return to Thailand prior to the expiration of your visa.

Please feel free to PM me or reply on this post if you have any questions.

Good Luck
