Carmine6 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 i want one of there babyshttp://edition.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/03/16/m...apon/index.html when can we but in LOS? Ronald Reagan caught a lot of flak for trying to develop the Star Wars missle system. But it convinced the USSR they couldn't keep up and now it's leading to a laser light show in your backyard. I can't imagine how it would only affect mosquitos. What's so special about mosquito bodies? Would it be the length of time the laser is on the target? Otherwise expect lines all over your body.
phaethon Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Oh the horror! Imagine it, you're walking home along the Khlong one night, innocently humming a high-pitched version of your favourite Isan hit, and.. ZAP!
teletiger Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 The mossie in the picture is a dengue carrier. No good for Thailand of course. With all the high-pitched whinning that goes on here, half the population would be toast. . The better half, I might add. Regards.
Tywais Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I guess it must be able to check the mosquito's sex. "In any case," he added. "The laser is able to distinguish between mosquitoes that go after people and those that aren't dangerous."
londonthai Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 there is not even a prototype build yet. I would think there is a danger from laser light to the human eye, so for those few minutes to kill mosquitos everybody would have to be indoors behind the curtains
