Hello all I need some advise on a matter of that at the moment I am on a 4 month overstay for various reasons all my fault so I dont need telling what a stupid boy I am. I work for a gov school and they are pushing me for a W.P, all I need to know is if I go and pay the 20,000 at the airport and go to penang to the Thai embassy what are the chances of them giving me a non b visa. Any good advise would be most welcome. Thank you.

If I were you, and if you haven't done so yet, I would apply for the WP first and get a WP-3 receipt, to show that you will get a WP once you have a valid non-B. Will help with you visa application.

I doubt very much that the labor department would even accept an application for WP from a person who is currently on overstay.

The OP should get the visa issue sorted out first.

You might very well be right. But without a WP-3 receipt he might not get a non-B, some consulates require it. With help from the school he might be able to get the WP process started or alternatively have the school contact the consulate to see if he can get a non-B without a WP-3 receipt.

Very true, at first he will need to leave Thailand, he cannot get a Non Imm B from Penang without a WP receipt. Therefore he should get a 30 day tourist visa, and then within 9 days of arrival back in Thailand he should change it at immigration for a Non Immigrant B, the nice people at the school should go with him to immigration, it always helps
