Making a trip in a couple weeks over the border, have some q's:

1) Does the train really go over the board into Laos now? If so, what's the routine? (If not, I know the drill.)

2) My girlfriend and I are both finishing up 90days--I'm from the US on a multiple entry Non-Imm O and she's Korean on her visa-on-arrival. I heard that some land border crossings were causing problems with the 30 day visa-on-arrivals (not giving the time usually allotted). Is this true? Would it apply to Koreans and their generous 90-day allowance?

Help or links to previous discussions much appreciated.

With a Non O Visa you will have no problems. Your Girlfriend will have no problems. As a Korean national she is entitled to 90 days.

For the majority of nationalities they will get 15 days stay.

Unless you want to there is no need to go all the way to Vientianne. Cross the border and come back again.

Yes the train does go into Laos but I do not know any details.
