Hi can Anyone Help,

I need to apply for an extention on my Non Imm O retirement mulitple entry visa in a couple of months. I live in Korat at the moment, but intend to travel around down South for 6 months later on. With the new strict Immigration rules on 90 day reporting. Would this mean that I would have to come back to Korat to report? Also if I can report by letter at Bangkok Office. Would I have to release my Passport into the Thai postal service or could I send photo copies. I have looked through the topic Strict New Immigration Rules. But could not find a definite answer. Would be grateful of any possitive advice. Cheers.

You can report by post to Korat. They are very helpful. You send copies of everything by EMS. Include a stamp addressed envelope.

It would depend on where your place of residence is, where you have to report. If you just live in hotels there wouldn't be any.

90 day reporting can be done by mail, at the office for your region. You do not send your passport, but copies!

The correct procedure can be found here: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/base.php?page=90days

Stamp should now be 10 baht and don't forget to send it by signed mail or EMS.

1. Are you on an OA multi entry visa that is still valid? If so you can get a second year before doing an extension of stay by leaving country before it expires and returning for a new one year permitted to stay stamp. If you are on 90 day visa entries it does not apply to you.

2. You must report in the area you have obtained your extension of stay - regardless of where you may be at the time. Most accept some form of mail reporting but you need to check with the respective office (do when you extend your stay).

3. Bangkok no longer accepts reporting for other than Bangkok area extensions of stay.
