Forest Fire On Doi Suthep

Featured Replies

I can see 2 large (maybe 4-5 rai) areas burning, and a new hotspot way up the mountain that is much smaller.

Looks to be a little north of where the road makes the first major bend to the south up the hill- above the Thai Naval facility.

Very high winds right now so it doesn't look good.

Hope the moisture level in the large trees is high enough. :o

Crikey mcgriffith, that doesn't look good at all :D The far one looks particularly out of control. I go walking up the Doi a number of times a week, and the Fire Index was set at very high just yesterday :D

Hope it gets under control soon.

This was taken with my mobile- almost worthless as the distance is too great.

My Canon digital has a flat battery.

The 3 areas have gotten larger since I took this, and the winds are gusting (my guess) about 40 knots- very strong.

Taken 5 minutes ago! Winds really whipping up now. Let's how the rains follow!
