July 7, 201511 yr Six units on the beach.....live in one ...rent the others out. An in progress picture and a finished one
July 8, 201511 yr Thanks for the bump BP, nice gaff After a couple of years our trees have grown, the grass is green (ish) and a car-port cum solar roof (without the solar as yet) has sprouted :- We seem to have become a home for unwanted plants, many of Wifey's friends have brought us trees and shrubs which have become too large for their own gardens (or they simply don't like them) to live out their lives in our rather larger plot (1.5 Rai), no plant in need is turned away. We now have over 100 trees, I expect to see tigers moving in soon. More fruit (jackfruit, mangoes, starfruit, bananas, limes, eggs etc. etc.) than we can eat, having to give it away (the office tea ladies really love me). EDIT How about some more "after a couple of years" photos from our earlier contributors? "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
July 10, 201511 yr OK some then and now photos taken just under 3 years apart, today and when we moved in August 2012 "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
July 14, 201511 yr I had this house built back in 2000. It's in Esaan about an hour West of Mukdahan. After a lot of persuasion a Land and House crew came from Bangkok and managed the construction. I had seen how the houses here crack after time so I had twenty four piling driven down twenty two feet and each one had one square meter of concrete place on top. I increased the dimension of the foundation by four inches each direction and each post in the house was increased one inch each direction. Now after fifteen years there are still no cracks in the house. I calculated the formula for 3500 PSI concrete and had a ready mix company deliver all concrete. There was no hand mixing (soup) done at the site. There are three bedrooms, an office, den and three bathrooms. I had piling placed under the pool also but without the one cubic meter caps. July 20, 201511 yr Some very nice houses here. I was a builder back in the states. Build houses up to 10,000 sq ft. One place had 16 exterior doors. I now live in the sticks with my wife, no kids, no dogs (I had a dog for every year or my life from 6 to 62, I used to mark the periods of my life by the dog I had at the time--not the woman;)). Anyway-- I moved here to simplify my life. 100 sqm. 800,000. A remodel really before and after Perfect little house at a good price well done mate

October 13, 201510 yr Beautiful places to hang ones hat. Enjoyed the thread. There are many of us living a really good life.
October 13, 201510 yr You know what would be nice would be a trial and tribulations along with the pictures. Lots of benefits to new builders if they read this thread. My wife and I designed our own home. It went very well with no show stoppers. It was an awful lot of fun.

I have never posted a picture and pardon me for not looking at the procedure.

If you have loads of detail please start a new thread like my Housebuilding one, this thread is really intended for a few finished home photos. Yes you can use Photobucket or upload to the forum direct (have a look in forum support for instructions) but please resize your images to something sensible, 800x600 or 1024x768 works quite well. October 17, 201510 yr finish9 (3).jpg My home in Issaan Looks sound. As a matter of interest what size is it and how much did it cost you ? Did you get 1 builder to do everything ?
October 18, 201510 yr My house, lived there about four years. Edited October 18, 201510 yr by Seizetheday
October 22, 201510 yr Here are a few pics of our finished house Our house is near the Mae Nam Wang river. We are now spending our time landscaping the yard. Its been on hold while we have been back in the states. Cheers
October 22, 201510 yr Nice Jafo ^^^. Make good use of your downstairs 'entertaining' area - we do "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
October 23, 201510 yr Nice Jafo ^^^. Make good use of your downstairs 'entertaining' area - we do Thanks Crossy. Yes absolutely on downstairs. One side is to park our truck and I will have a shop area to mess with my toys. The other side will be a relax area where I will have our hammocks and sitting table and chairs etc. We always have a nice breeze in the early afternoon which is why we have the upstairs Sala as well. It looks down our soi as the soi ends at our place. Cheers
October 25, 201510 yr It's not finished yet, in fact it's not even started !! But here is a couple of before shots, hope I remember to update here in 5 years time Just bought this 2.5 rai, 600m from the beach in Khanom, Suratthani.. Any suggestions for layout/design/application welcome....
October 25, 201510 yr Still a work in progress. Lots more gardening required and a kitchen would be great. Double block contruction, UPVC windows, PPR plumbing and solar water. Really loving the peace and quiet of not living in a moo bahn. A little way out of Pattaya but actually quicker access to town than battling my way down Soi Nern Plubwaan.
November 4, 201510 yr Hi there all ... This is the original plan for my house ... More pics will drop in shortly ...
