Parks Or Sports Areas

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know of any parks or football pitches that are free for the public to use, in or close to the city centre? I was thinking about the grass areas in CMU but I don't know whether you have to book these in advance or if you can just turn up. Perhaps someone can enlighten me please?

There is a park at the south west corner of the old city, CMU as you mentioned, a sports college north of the old city, east of Chotana rd, but the premier sports center with lots of green is the 700 Year sports complex, on the irrigation canal road (121 ring road), 4 0r 5 km north of Huay Keow Rd. No booking necessary, but it's a popular place in the late afternoon and evening.

You can just turn up at CMU, but get there early as it gets really busy in the evenings. You can join in with one of the games if you're feeling adventurous (but don't expect to be passed to much!). CMU also has a proper pitch in the main stadium, but it's probable that you'll get kicked off by the groundsman if he spots you.
