my previous post on this subject was deleted, probably by a representative of the company itself, so here goes again:

any restaurant proprietor who advertises an "English Breakfast" in Pattaya that contains the brown excuses for 'sausages' that appear to contain no meat content whatsoever please mention this on your menus so that I can move on elsewhere, I really am 'fed up' (no pun intended) paying for sub-standard food which only gets returned to the kitchen. When I see "Sausage" on the menu [silly me] I really do expect something that tastes like a sausage !!!!!!

thanks for reading.

change to d-caf mate :D

but seriously, you may want to air your "beef" (pork) in the Pattaya forum for better results, and perhaps avail some recomendations for real sausages so you no long feel compelled to pay for substandard food. :o

Hi hearny,

it was deleted by me not a rep. from any company cause your wording was quite tough :o .

As I said already in my pm to you I have the same anger like you as well when going out for a meal.

I do produce sausages by my self for some friends and small customers and I know all prices from many suppliers.

What kind of sausage can you expect for 150baht/kg when the pork prices are more than 100baht/kg???, think about it please.

When ever you come to Phuket I am happy to give you a free sample from my sausages :D .

Regards,

Gerd

thanks to all you who took the time to reply, I agree Gerd that my original post was quite strong but as I'm sure you could tell I was at the end of my tether, I also agree that you shouldn't expect much from a 160 baht per kilo sausage, I just get so wound up when an "English Breakfast" arrives with some brown cylindrical things that taste solely of rusk, no meat content whatsoever.

I've started the process of making my own, off out today to look for a decent sized freezer so that I can produce several kilo's at once and [maybe] sell some on to cover my costs.

all the best guys and thanks for your replies.

just a quick update guys (and gals), today I tried "Gregs Kitchen" (second road, just before BKK bank) and surprise surprise they import their sausages from the UK !!!! hoorah sausage crisis averted. With a full english costing 199 baht I'm definitely going to become a regular in this place. I'm still going to make my own for home use etc. but this restaurant serves 'proper' sausages and is definitely worth a visit.

Thank you Gregs Kitchen for saving my sanity.,

Hi hearny,

Thanks for your understanding!

Don't do the same mistake I did:

Just starting making sausages for some friends and myself and gave some samples to hotels and restaurants.

Now our kitchen looks like a butcher shop and me and my wife are ending up sometimes 4am making these sausages :D:D:D .

But my wife is proud and happy to make some money for our household.

Happy butchering!

Depends where you are located in Thailand.

Not sure if your english friends like the german Bratwurst, try to get a decent Cumberland and don't choose the cheapest ones please.
