Yellow Tabien Baan

It's only within the last few days that I actually heard of a yellow 'Tabien Baan' for foreigners compared to the blue 'Tabien Baan' for Thais.

What purpose does it serve? Is it useful to have? Would it save me running to my embassy every time I needed a letter of residence or such like? Would it speed up immigration processing or applying for a new driving licence?

If you get it you will never have to get a certificate of residence again.

It is good for anything that you need to prove your address for.
