Red-shirts To Launch Dstation 2

The anti-government United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) will launch the second version of DStation after the previous station was shut down by the government.

The new satellite-based station would either be called "News DStation" or "DStation 2" and is expected to be on air on May 18, UDD prominent figure and former Thai Rak Thai party executive Adisorn Piengket said on Monday.

He said all programmes and features will be the same as the first DStation and it will be operate like the Asia Satellite Television (ASTV) - a pro-People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) satellite-based station.

Mr Adisorn said the new Dstation was willing to give full assistance to the fact-finding committee into the political activity and violence during the Songkran holiday period by providing any information available upon its request.

The government lifted the state of emergency in Bangkok and nearby provinces on April 24, but it continued to block DStation and other pro-UDD radio stations.

Referring to the committee for national reconciliation and constitution amendment, the UDD leader said attaining reconciliation would be impossible if the government continued to arrest the red-clad key figures everyday.

The government wanted to arrest more than 100 UDD leaders in the next few days, according to Mr Adisorn.

Another UDD leader and former government spokesman Nattawut Saikua said the red-shirt rally at Paikaew temple on Sunday was not aimed at provoking the group's supporters.

Mr Nattawut said the rally should not affect the court's condition after he and two other UDD leaders Veera Musikaphong and Weng Tojirakarn were released on bail.

Under the condition, the UDD leaders must not engage in any acts of provocation, disrupt police investigation into the riots or leave the country without permission.

So tomorrow I can watch DStation again.

How nice all the yellow leaders are still free!

They think if red leaders are arrested, the red movement will be dead.

I watched last month and had this photo. Khun Thaksin enjoys cooking. When he was Prime Minister, he did not have much time to cook.

If you waded through the Political stuff, DStation actually had some very good programing.

They had a great talk show on Issan music with a couple of the best Khan players in the country and it was old home week for me when they had a travelogue on Vancouver, BC.

I'm glad they are coming back I think that every side should have a way to get their point out but now the government through the NBC wants to censor every sat TV and community station in the country. So much for freedom.

Via Truth Today Talk on 19th May, Nuttawut said people can watch People Channels, new name for DStation, from 1st June. Now they can watch but must buy an extra equipment.

The blocking of red satellite tv is not protected. First they said because of Emergency Decree. But when ED ended, they still blocked. Sathit said the Communication Control blocked, but these people said they did not have authority to block. The fact is Thailand does not have rules to control satellite tv stations yet. They said they'll issue rules in June.

They can't say other governments controlled media. Media now is 100% controlled by Abhisit's people.
