Thai Curry Spice Of Life

Featured Replies

No need for a link, here's the story:

EATING spicy Thai curry could help protect against cancer, doctors said yesterday.

Tests show a ginger-like root used to flavour the dishes appears to kill cancer cells.

Now a team from King’s College, London, believes it can not only zap cancer cells but also protect healthy ones from cancer-causing substances.

The root, called galangal, is already used as an alternative treatment for stomach cancer in Indo-China and taken as an aphrodisiac.

Researchers who tested galangal extracts on breast and lung cancer cells found it reduced the incidence of the disease three-fold.

Study leader Prof Peter Houghton said: “Experiments show some basis to the claim that galangal could treat cancer. But we need to conduct more tests.”

talking about spicy i think it includes something hot lol, i think chilli cause stomach ulcers which ultimately cause cancers if left untreated for long.
