Got 2 Week Vis After 1 Year Business Visa Cancelled On Visa Run

Recommended Posts

A friend , living in Chiang mai, got back from the USA a couple of months ago with a one year business visa,

he went on a visa run on monday and came back with a 2 week visa...it turns out that his business visa , which he got in New York was a single entry, and he should have got a multiple entry

Anyway right now he has a 2 week visa and he wants to know where he has to go to get a new business visa (this time multiple and start over again?

Anybody please advise , ...he was told he had to go to Perth to get a new visa ....is that so? is there no thai consulate nearer that can help?

You are not saying what your friend has in the way of documentation. For example does he have a work permit or is he just looking for a job? Also a single-entry business visa is not valid for 1 year.

He got his visa in the consulate in New York and it was a one year business visa...but he got a single entry instead of a multiple( he thought he had a multiple and only realised the mistake when he made the visa run this week!!

he doesn't have job right now and so no work permit ,but he is looking for one and , he is about 50+(dont know exactly but over 50 for sure)

all advice welcome thank you

His visa would have an experation date one year after issue it was a multiple entry and 90 for a single.

He could get a single entry non-o at any of the nearby consulates if he is over 50. That would be enough to get a work permit.

Or even a double entry tourist visa that would give him almost 6 months without getting a new visa. Tourist visas are free until the 4th of June. He could also apply for a work permit with a tourist visa and then go out for the B after he has that.
