Running Track

I'm doing some pre race training and I would like to run some time trials on a measured distance track. Does anyone know of a running track in Phuket measured for 400 meters/44o yards or any other place with a measured distance suitable for running?

Thanks

P

Two places come to my mind.

The football field up near the windmill between Nai Harn and Laem PromThep has an oval track around a (looks like) standard sized football field.

You would have to walk it off to make sure of the distance i imagine.

The other is a straight shot: The dam breast at Bang Wad dam in Kathu.

I estimate the straight away (between the closed gates) at 500 meters.

Again, you'd have to walk it off and in that choice, you couldn't run it out and would have to stop in the remaining 100 meters (or whatever) as the gates are almost always closed.

Also, I have never been inside the football field stadium at Sapan Hin in Phuket Town, but that's probably a standard 400 meter track.

Darakule (sp?) stadium near Central Festival (towards town the other side of Darasumut School) has a nice one. Don't know how to go about using it though. I mean that I know how to run but not how to get the ok to run.

How would one go about plugging those numbers into Google Earth?

Would you have to convert to Degrees, Minutes and Seconds first?

not sure about google earth - for google maps (maybe same i don't know) copy and paste just the (entire) 2 numbers as they appear into the search line and click return so for the first one copy and paste the following as it is here:-
