Hi

I will bring my Philippina girlfriend to Thailand and wonder after 30days whats the rules?Same as me(swedish)15days visarun or studentvisa or workpermit/company ?

Moved to the other visa forum.

Now that I got your topic moved.

It will all be the same as for you. The only difference will be that she would not need a visa for Cambodia or Laos if you make a visa or border run.

She can also get a free tourist visa but it would only be good for 59 days.

Can My Philippino girlfriend after here 30days visa on arrivel go and get ex Ed visa or get/visaB for workpermit in my company?Or can she also

go and get a 60plus30 days tourustvisa in Laos or were ever its the best place at that time.

Do you have the correct ratio of Thai to Farang for her to get a Non Imm B Visa?

The rules are exactly the same except for the minimum salary to get an extension of stay based upon employment.

The minimum for her is 35,000 baht verses 50,000 for you.

I've never heard of a free tourist visa valid for 59 days for filipinos.

Could you supply more details please?

All tourist visas were free until June 3 - that post was from May.

Yes, thanks - that explains the free part, but what about the 59 day validity?

They way Thailand counts days you can not stay a full 60 on a tourist visa as arrival day is day one (not zero) regardless of when you arrive.

I guess somebody missed my last post.

Well this somebody misses a lot of posts as he doesn't live on this forum. With the frequency of new posts it is very easy to miss threads.

I travel with a Filipino and she has never been given 59 days upon entry. It has always been 30 days as it is for me, an Australian.

When did this change occur? Am I to assume that the next time she enters Thailand she will receive a 59 day stamp? Does she get 59 days visa free exemption at land borders?

Sorry, I didn't mean to appear ignorant on this point.

I'm well aware that the first day is counted when you arrive, but no one calls a 30 days stamp a 29 day stamp, just as on this forum everyone calls a 60 day stamp a 60 days stamp and not a 59 day stamp. 15 day stamps are now in common use at land borders, but no one calls them 14 day stamps.

(Would you believe that a 30 day extension stamp is just that - 30 days? They don't count the first day)

The 59 days has something to do with a bilateral agreeement with the Philippines where they do actually issue 59 day stamps and extensions...by name. If they use this in Thailand it will probably mean 58 days.

It was not meant for you. I was talking about my post just before lpbburi3's with the info from the MFA website. It is not for entries it is for tourist visas. It has been on the website for as long as I have been going to it for info.

I don't understant the 59 day thing unless it means you have to ask for a special 59 day visa instead of 60 in order to get the free visa.

That is the normal Philippine tourist visa period - 21 days exempt plus 38 days for visa (if you pay for it) making 59 days in all. So to be bilateral expect they have to call it 59 days. Am not sure how they count the days as has been many years since there and never on a tourist visa.

In the Philippines they DON'T count the first day, so you get a genuine 21, 38 or 59 days.

I've never heard of a 59 day or a 60 day free entry or free visa. There used to be a free tourist visa for Filipinos in Malaysia with 1 or 2 entries, but now they charge 110 MR per entry. Laos charges 1000 baht per entry, and as far as I know, so does Phnom Penh.

My Filipino GF gets a tourist visa which is valid for 90 days (one or two entries from Vientiane). She is stamped in for 60 days when she arrives, just as I am. (As Lopburi pointed out, this is really only 59 days). She then gets an extension of 30 days at immigration.

Perhaps as Lopburi pointed out, they just used the 59 day terminology on the MFA website to conform with the Philippine format.

Nrxt time you do a visa run print out a copy of the webpage and ask the consulate about it. It's on the MFA website.

I don't think it matters what the number of days that is written on the webpage but that it says they should be free.

Do you have any idea how recent that info on the MFA website is? If Filipinos could get 59 days upon entry for free they would have no need to bother with getting tourist visas (this is why I'm very interested), yet the consulate in Vientiane is doing a roaring trade selling them tourist visas.

I doubt a Thai visiting the Philippines would get more than 21 days free upon entry, so I don't understand how this could be a bilateral agreement.
