I'll briefly explain :

A Dutch couple bought a house in Thailand, through a lease plan. Adding this before some start yelling that we cannot buy houses.

Now they received a multiple entry Non O visa in their home country solely on showing their sales agreement.

My question now is, can we apply for such visa in any Thailand's neighbouring countries or is it only our home countries that will supply us with this type of visa?

A multi entry Visa is not available for the reasons you described. There must either be other reasons or they went to a very friendly Consulate .O means "other" maybe the consulate in question regarded having a house as "other". You certainly would not get one in countries neighbouring Thailand.

I don't know what basis they got the non-o visa on. Many consulates will issue a visa for being over 50 with nothing more than your passport to prove you are over 50.

Some consulates are lenient on what they require to issue a non-o. Some issue them to visit friends.

You will not get a non-o at any nearby consulate that easy.

You can get one in Perth to visit friends. That is the nearest place to here you can get one.

thanks for the replies.

This couple is 45 years old and got it from the Thai consulate in The Netherlands and only showed their sales agreement.

Amsterdam is reported to be friendly and helpful. :)

I'm atually in the same situation, got my sales agreement however haven't been to my home country for 6 years now.

Maybe time to pay a visit and try to apply for a multiple NON O.

Or try Perth, Oz is on my list anyway.

Gettable in Europe for Visiting Friends. Hull UK. Stuttgart Germany. being favourite. Also reports of success in Amsterdam.

Perth also appears to issue.

Yes Hull will issue visas to most other non UK nationalities.

Perth will also. See the pinned topic on the first page of this fourm about the latest reports of getting a visa. You will find two topics there about Perth. It is under getting a non-o for family but topics are about getting them for friends.

The consulate in Amsterdam is indeed very friendly, although I saw on another forum a few months ago that they would not issue new visa's for this reason anymore.

Note that investment, inclusing investment in a house, for 10 million or more baht opens up the way for a visa and extensions based on investment.

I thought that was 40 million in bonds? Where can I find more info? Bored of visa trips :)

Look here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/post-a70477-.html

Gives the rules for getting an extension of stay. 2.5 under B! gives the rules for investment. The first part A is for people who are grandfathered.

It is for condos only not houses. But you can mix it with bonds, savings and etc.

You would apply for it at immigration. Copy of police order clause follows.

2.5 In the case of an investment: Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 1 year at a time.

B. In case of an investment of not less than 10 million baht.

(1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM)

(2) Proof of money transfer to Thailand of not less than 10 million baht.

(3) Proof of investment to purchase or rent for a period not less than 3 years of unit in a condominium from an agency or government agency concerned at a price of not less than 10 million baht.

(4) Proof of investment in the form of a fixed deposit of not less than 10 million baht with a bank registered in Thailand with Thai shareholders comprising more than 50% of its shareholders.

(5) Proof of investment to purchase government or state enterprise bonds with a value of not less than 10 million baht or

(6) Proof of combined investments as set out in clauses (3),(4) Or (5) having a total value of not less than 10 million baht.

Thanks guys

I thought they skipped the 10 mill baht condo/investment visa because it became to common. Guess i have some reading up to do. Seems like a good time to invest in Condos

It was just put back into the police order last November. A 10 million baht investment can also be used to get permanent residency.
