as my attempt at one minutes silence from posters has come to a dead end, i am informing all of you MJ lovers that i will be holding a Vigil this evening for the icon that brought us so much and touched many.

All who wish to attend please PM, it will be held in the garden at my home this evening from 6pm. i think with a lot of preying his tormented sould could reach heaven

Food and drinks shall be provided along with candles

as this is a Vigil i think we should avoid alcohol

What a lovely gesture. I for one will certainly endevour to attend. I will PM you my personal details so you can keep me up to date and give directions. Like so many posters have already said, Michael was my hero and an inspiration to us all in the buisiness of entertaining.

I agree with your idea to forgo any alchohol. Even lite beer - as whats the point of a weak brew which misses the point. I would prefer a nice cup of Twinnings Earl Grey, as I do know this was Michaels favourite tipple

It's my pleasure. Although I have not listened to his music for a long time, when I was a kid I had a sad life, like there was a hole in it. Michael Jackson filled my hole. And I believe he has filled the hole for many children.

I think what sums the man up is a story from way back.

Back when he and Quincy Jones were remixing Thriller, they were walking back to the studio after lunch and saw some kids playing on a building site. It looked like a beam had worked loose and was going to fall on them. Quincy told MJ to leave them be, that they should just let the kids deal with it themselves. As Q stood there and watched, MJ charged over to the building site and shooed the kids out of the way. Seconds later, the beam fell. It surely would have injured them. Unlike most of us, MJ had no qualms about interfering with kids.

Whatever a person may or may not feel regarding Michael Jackson, is there really any need to make these very sick jokes wherever possible? Whether he was really a pedophile or not, doesnt mean its appropriate to make innuendo jokes about pedophilia. There is nothing funny about child sexual abuse.
