Extravagances

Featured Replies

Ok, after the last topic almost back to normal programming. :o

Thailands a cheap country, we all know that, and a 10 quid meal here will get you better service than a 10 quid meal back in the west (that's 20 dollars for the US readers with your weak ass dollar). To be extravagant in London or New York or Paris takes a lot of cash, but here with a 1000 pounds on the table you could have the night of a lifetime.

I'm thinking here about the guy that bought 20 girls out of a club for his company for the night out of a popular Sukhumvit club. Extravagant of course, who needs that many women? Pleasurable of course, I'm sure he had fun! Expensive, hmm, not really, it could be done by a lot of people here.

Similar to staying in the most expensive hotel in Bangkok, and eating in the most expensive restaurant in Bangkok, and going for drinks at the most expensive bar in Bangkok. It's the best this country has to offer but it's within many peoples price range. Try doing the same in London, your'll be bankrupt.

So tell me your stories, whats the most extravagant thing your've spent your cash on for one night, or your friends or just a story you heard about someone having that night of a lifetime.

I rang the bell when England scored a goal in the last world cup. Luckily, they didn't do it again!

Your a bunch of cheap b.astards. lol.

Jay, how much that cost you? I was in the Bamboo bar soi 3 Bangkok, on a Friday a few years back, and anyone that knows the bar will tell you it's a pretty busy bar, and that night packed out, some guy rung the bell and we all got free drinks. Must have cost him a bloody fortune.

Ringing the bell is one sure fired method of gaining instant popularity hey?

I must admit, I have done it twice in the past in Soi 33... back in my single days. :o

Sorry I can't describe my most extavagant night out in Thailand... it would be censored. :D

Ahhhh..... memories.... :D

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

I'm a tight barsteward, i only ever ring the bell when the bar is quiet :o

must admit I'm tighter if I see a bell, I normally look for a hunchback

Not many replies are there.

Maybe it is impossibe to answer this without using the forbidden word ......GarBirls

I was going to suggest you change it to, " If you had 1000 to blow in one night what would you do? " but I guess that would be impossible to answer as well.

In Vegas last summer managed to blow $2000 on roulette before leaving the hotel, then onto a few strip/lap dancing clubs, several hundred more $ gone. After that went clubbing, was a great club, and managed to get through a fair few $ there. Not as much as one guy who got security to evict me and my friend from the sofa at his table, complaining to the bouncer, he explained that the guy had paid $1000 for the privilage of sitting there. Good time was had in there, anyway. On the way out found some company for the night, $400, she didn't stay the whole night. Wouldn't have mattered, was so pissed remember very little of it anyway.

Well, I had a good time, but wasn't worth the nearly $3K I managed to get through that night, luckily headed off to Tijuana a few days later before I bankrupted myself. :o That's a fun little town, if a bit dodgy.

My next indulgence will be on my birthday in May, have some great plans for that, but as Bkkmadness points out, will be a fraction the cost of Vegas. :D
