hey guys...

My friends and I will be stopping by Pattaya for few days and we were wondering which is hotel to stay within walking distance for Pattaya nightlife..???

Thanks....

Just make sure it doesn't have Sawasdee in the name.

My friend swears by the Residence Garden. Anyway, the nightlife is spread out and a long walk from one end to the other.

You have asked a vast question, both Pattaya hotels and the nightlife are so wide spread geographically it is hard to best helf so if you want a more targeted response please give an idea of what you prefer nightlife and the hotel price bracket.

I like to stay north, around the dolphin roundabout. If you want real class the dusit is right up there, close by is the green park that has a great lagoon pool with swim up bar and good gardens or if you really are into some sport you could go to fairtex where they have a swimming pool, tennis, basketball and badmington courts, a superbe gym and thai boxing training all available. all of these can be found on www.jollythai.com. on naklua road there is also lek villa which has good rooms a very good pool and in hotel terms a great breakfast that is open from 7am until 1pm unlike the usual 6 to 10am so you still have a chance of making it if you have been out on a bender. it is an "eat all you like buffet and quite varied so it can basically do for breakfast/lunch combined. The beds are hard in my opinion but ok for a week or less. it can be found on www.asiatravel.com Ialso like some of the bars up north like barracuda and ryans etc. :)

baht busses on the circuit are 10 baht a trip if you want to go all the way to walking st from the dolphin

Agree with comments about Lek Hotel's great value and huge choice 110 baht buffet breakfast/brunch, but rooms there are a bit tired for the price and don't have many facilities.

I like to go for newer or refitted hotels that offer DVD and free wireless. If that's your bag then try Pasadena Lodge in soi LK Metro off soi Bukaow and soi Diana. 1,000 baht nice rooms (though not much view), quiet soi - ok so there was a bottling in the soi last week but that's unusual - and a pretty reception. You can walk to Lek for the brekkie.

It's a bit of a walk to Walking Street (10 baht songthaew ride - go on experience the culture a bit!) and if you try walking it 9 times out of 10 you will not make it past the many beer bars that litter the waysides.

They don't implement the bit in their notes for guests about no guests after 10:30, but I probably would not take a twosome back to this hotel or take several different teelaks a day - its a bit more refined than that (for Pattaya)!

Julie Complex Hotel (45 rooms : rates THB 600 - 1200)

235/5 M. 10 Beach Road, South Pattaya Nongprue Banglamung Chonburi.

Tel: +66 38 429968, 429418, 424669 Fax : +66 38 429851

It is at the end of Walking Street, ask for the end (ocean view) rooms. Not fancy but no rules, no lady fines, at close to entertainment.

Very funny. Long since gone. There wil be new accommodation built in it's place, but the room price will not be the same.. or even close.

:)In my opinion the LEK HOTEL on Second RD would be one of the best for a first timer as it is very central. Not expensive, also has a = all you can eat buffet b/fast for 110 bht.

Has all you need, get a room in the new wing, old wing is a bit tired.

Baht bus at door step, 4mins to beach :D

Book the Baboona living hotel , its on the beach and its got all the mod cons including DVD Player, I have stayed a total of 20 nights in 2 visits this year.

First time i booked , i got a studio and the second time a beach view and both rooms where good, but waking up looking onto the sea every morning is a treat.
