Ok - my visa (investment visa 3M Baht) is up for extension mid August every year - and I am always travelling (home leave) the July/August period.

Every year I bring print of travel schedule/booking and every year (for 5 years now) it has been allowed to apply more than a month before when showing booking.

The rules stipulate that one can only apply 1 month BEFORE the expiry of last extension.

I spend 3 hours today waiting - and when finally got to counter, due to the new boss, I was asked to go counter 1 for approval of early renewal by captain, who send me to the BIG boss office, who never came back.

I will go again tomorrow - and wonder whether anybody have ever heard of applying for LESS than 365 days, say 335 days, bringing my next renewal into June month every year - not having to go through this every year.

Cheers!

They usually let you do it early if you have a reason such as travelling etc. They should let you extend in June.

Only they can tell you though. :)

It would be worth asking. Have never heard of anyone doing so but the rule is "up to one year" so it should be OK by the letter of the law. Most people have the option to start anew but with the investment extension you do not have that route open.

Well - fully agree - and has worked for 5 years like that for me.

Think problem this year was new boss - and lack of delegation. Even the captain (desk 1) did not have the "power" to grant such a out of the ordinary concession :)

I took it with a smile - but will ask the boss when (if....?) see him tomorrow whether I could ask for LESS than 365 days this time - or maybe he can grant me a letter that I can add to the stack next year with his lifetime approval of same! :D

Cheers!

I did that a few years ago to bring my renewal date to one that is more convenient.

In the space where you are supposed to fill in the lenth of the extension you are requesting, just put the number of days you want your visa extended.
