This week Robbie Fowler finally made it onto the pitch for his new club , the North Queensland Fury,in Perth, against touring side Wolverhampton Rovers.Not only did he make an appearance, he slotted home a penalty in the 67th minute after coming on as a sub in the 55th minute.Fowler has been dogged by hip and groin problems since his arrival in the palm fringed,tropical north coast of Qld and time will tell of course if he can adapt to the heat and humidity in home games.

Fury ,in their initial season,are hoping that Fowler can have the Beckham effect and put bums on seats in the Australian A League competition whose season starts in a few weeks. Unfortuantly ,but fortuantly , for Fowler he dosent have a publicity driven, fruit cake wife to assist him in obtaining media interest and its all been a bit low key so far.

For the record Wolves defeated Fury 2-1.
